Every joint.
Sealed tight.

Codena Construction installs caulking and sealants on the joints that keep water, air and weather out of a building — window and door perimeters, curtain wall and storefront, precast facades and expansion joints. From a single house to a commercial tower.

A bead of sealant is the only thing between the weather and the wall.

Windows, doors, cladding and concrete all move — with heat, cold and settling. The joints between them are where water and air find their way in. Done right, a sealant joint flexes with the building for years. Done wrong, it cracks, pulls away, and lets the damage start quietly behind the finish.

What we seal

Caulking & sealants, ground floor to rooftop.

The same joints show up on a house and on a high-rise — they just get bigger, higher and more demanding. Every one is prepped, backed and tooled properly.

Black window walls set between cedar posts, under a metal roof. Every frame meets wood, steel and cladding — three materials that all move differently through an Ontario year.

The sealant lines had to do two jobs: keep the lake weather out, and disappear into the architecture. Straight, consistent and colour-matched from deck to soffit.

How a joint gets done right

Most caulking fails in the prep. Ours doesn't skip it.

01

Inspect & quote

We look at every joint — width, depth, substrate and condition — and put a clear written quote in front of you before any work is booked.

02

Cut out & clean

Old, failed sealant is cut out completely. Surfaces are cleaned and primed where the product calls for it. New caulking over old caulking doesn't last.

03

Back & bead

Backer rod sets the right joint depth so the sealant bonds on two sides and can stretch. The right sealant goes in for the material and the movement.

04

Tool & walk through

Every bead is tooled tight and clean, the site is cleaned up, and we walk the finished work with you.
